WindowAlert decals help prevent wild birds from accidently striking windows. Each decal has a special coating that reflects ultraviolet sunlight. This ultraviolet light is invisible to humans, but birds see it as a brilliant glow much like a stoplight.
To the human eye, the decals appear as frosted or etched glass. Butterfly decals measure approximately 4" across. WindowAlert decals are designed to be placed on the OUTSIDE of a window. As a rough guide, we recommend one decal for every 3' x 3' section of glass. Reapply decals every 6-9 months.
CONTENTS: 4 Decals per Envelope. TYPE: Static cling.
(If a bird repeatedly attacks your windows, please consider our Stop Bird Attack product.)

These were easy to put on, and, best of all, they actually stay on! I was hearing birds hit our windows at least once every couple days before I bought these. I haven't heard ANY since I put these on the windows!
Easy to use. Attractive. Stay on. Work!
very subtle decals

these are very subtle. I really like the look of them. I think I may need to put them more closely together. I did have a bird hit the window between the decals.
subtle, nice designs
You may need more than you think to be effective
Stops what goes "Bump" in the light.

Works extremely well. Like the Square design, stopped accidents same day. We like them both.
Works well and fast.
As explained in directions, seem to loose effectiveness after 5-6 months

It very much has worked for me. I have one on each panel of my windows on the side where I have my bird feeders. The birds had been crashing into them on a daily basis. Horrible. They lasted ca a year. The only thing that has worked. I bought the butterfly ones and they don't look too bad.
No more birds flying into windows!

We installed four of the hummingbird decals on three upper windows that had been hit at least monthly by birds. That was about three years ago. We haven't had any bird strikes that we are aware of since.
WindowAlert saves lives!

I'm posting this review as both praise and an FYI to potential buyers of WindowAlert decals: they do work, but need to be used properly! First of all, the UV fades, and decals need to be replaced every 6-9 months (this is normal). Get an extra set and put it aside, then use the UV Decal Tester to compare the unused to the used decals every few months (at night) to check on fading. Also, and this is very important: the decals should have no more than a 4"(vertical) by 2""(horizontal) gap between them! Otherwise
So Far So Good

We got tired of mourning doves banging into the large piture windows we have, so we checked the internet, and made some phone calls. We found out that the people at Window Alert were great to work with . We installed the butterfly decals and so far so good! Thanks for a good product!
Don't work for doves

The doves don't care, they still try to fly through the windows - just had another strike, about 2" from one of the leaf decals. I guess I'll have to keep the shades down all day."
Window Alert: Butterfly Decals
Posted by Roger Roslansky on 23rd Jan 2015
Unfortunately, after following directions and placing all 4 Butterfly Decals on high windows, not backed with venetian blinds, the beautiful BLUE BIRDS were not distracted. They are still prevalent and regularly, especially in early morning, still "banging"" into the windows! Jeez."
Greatly reduces crashes

Our house in the forest has many huge windows. We have many species of birds in spring. We used to get as many as five fatal/injurious crashes a day. The last four years we used Window Alert decals and the number of serious crashes is down to two or three a year. Place them within two feet apart for good results.
